Overview
The Transition Assistance Program (TAP) offers students who have completed all the state academic requirements for graduation an opportunity to continue their education in the areas of career exploration, employment skills, and independent life skills, including self advocacy. Collaboration with interagency partner, AVIDD Community Services, students work with certified job coaches, gaining exposure and experience with various job groups. Each student, supported by staff, acquires employment skills and engages in informed career decision-making. Students shadow employees and supervisors in various venues, progressing to an internship and possible employment.
