Overview

BEYOND THE ACADEMICS

We offer programs that go beyond academics to help students succeed in many areas in life.

Career Education

Career Exploration activities at Windsor Prep help students discover their interests, strengths, and career options. The program exposes them to various fields, such as woodworking, cooking, jewelry making, STEAM careers, and more. Students engage in hands-on activities, meet industry leaders, tour job sites, job shadow, and volunteer. Windsor also hosts an annual Career and Education Fair.

Diverse Electives

At Windsor Prep, students have the opportunity to personalize their learning experience through a wide variety of engaging electives designed to spark curiosity, creativity, and career exploration. From Poetry Slam and American Pop Culture to Computer Science, Etiquette, and Life Skills, our courses go beyond the traditional classroom to prepare students for success in college, careers, and life. Students can also dive into specialized subjects like Principles of Automotive, Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, Photography, Broadcasting, and Spanish

IXL

IXL is a web-based learning tool offering unlimited practice in all subject areas across the curricula. The program is adaptive and progresses based on the students’ understanding of the material. An individualized learning path is designed for each student, creating activities for enrichment and remediation.

Technology Services

Technology services are prevalent in the classroom environment with interactive whiteboards, individual laptops, iPads, and supervised internet access. In addition, students are provided the opportunity to use 3D printers to enhance spatial reasoning skills and design thinking.

Drama and Dance

Windsor Prep has partnered with Carousel for Progress, a performing arts program that enhances students' lives by improving motor skills, teamwork, and social interaction. Students engage in interactive assemblies, reviewing scripts and embodying roles. They develop social skills, creativity, public speaking, and self-expression through theater, dance, singing, and acting. The program also teaches the history of drama, stage direction, and the integrity of theater and film acting, helping students express themselves appropriately.
